"$35 bath bombs, no discounts, no race to the bottom — just brand equity."
Full Story
Most Amazon sellers compete on price. Ahila Power of Healing took the opposite position: a $35–$37 bath-bomb gift set with premium organic ingredients, luxury-tier packaging, and zero discounting. The bet was that the right customer exists on Amazon — and if you build for that customer, you don't need to fight for the cheapest click.
The product launch followed Amazon's Brand Registry pathway from day one. Trademark secured, brand enrolled in Brand Registry, A+ content live before the first ad dollar was spent. The storefront was built to look and feel like a standalone DTC brand — not like a white-label Amazon listing. That brand investment protected the listings from hijackers and built customer trust at first glance.
Seasonal strategy was the key growth lever. Rather than running year-round promotions, the team identified Q4 gifting as the highest-value opportunity — Christmas, Hanukkah, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day. Inventory was pre-positioned for each window. During Q4 peak, daily unit volume regularly hit 70+ with no price reduction.
The business now generates an estimated $50,000+ in monthly revenue at a $35–$37 average selling price, moving 30–70 units per day depending on season. No coupons, no lightning deals, no race to the bottom. The brand moat — review count, Brand Registry protection, A+ content, and a loyal repeat-customer base — keeps cheaper listings invisible to the buyers Ahila is built for.
" The Amazon default is to discount your way to volume. We did the opposite — built a brand that customers actively searched for and were happy to pay full price for. That's a completely different business.
